Our conference serves writers of all backgrounds & levels of experience. The Kettle Pond Writers' Conference supports this goal with book-length & short-form workshops across all genres including fiction, non-fiction & poetry. We never charge an application fee, have need-based fellowships available, & provide housing options supportive of all writers. The cornerstone of our conference is an accessible, inclusive, & community-focused culture that supports participants well after the conference week concludes. Our dedication to inclusion can be seen among our faculty, industry professionals & staff, all of whom represent diverse voices in the contemporary writing community. We believe the writing life is one nourished & nurtured by exploration. In addition to our workshops, we offer lectures & seminars that approach the craft of writing & business of publishing from a variety of perspectives. We also encourage participants to partake in the numerous recreational activities offered by the conference in partnership with Paul Smiths' college from kayaking to staff-led generative nature walks on over 20 miles of marshland & alpine trails around campus.
