THE WRITERS' RESIDENCY at KETTLE POND

COVID-19 UPDATE:

Friday, March 13, 2020

After monitoring developments related to the novel coronavirus COVID-19, the difficult decision has been reached to cancel the 2020 Writers’ Conference. We are currently working on planning our 2021 Conference. Please see our Home Page and continue to check our website for more details. Kettle Pond plans to offer the Writers’ Residency without changes to the description below in June 2021.

The Writers’ Residency offers writers working in any genre the opportunity to attend the conference and devote time to their work without enrolling in a workshop. Room, board, access to campus facilities, recreational opportunities, and all conference events are included in conference tuition.

In the past, The Writers’ Residency has been beneficial to writers with a variety of goals. Writers in the final phases of editing a longer project, just beginning to sketch one out, or working in a genre the conference doesn’t serve through The Workshops in a given year (i.e. screenwriting, playwriting, or middle grade literature) have all taken advantage of The Writers’ Residency as a way of joining our conference community. Writers who have another project in mind for the week (i.e. devoting time to submitting work, preparing application materials for an MFA), or any writer who just needs more time to devote to their work, are also encouraged to apply.
