ONE SIZE DOES NOT FIT ALL

At Kettle Pond Writers' Conference, we recognize the importance of tailoring workshops to suit the individual needs of writers. As such, we divide our sections by both genre and project length. Writers looking to workshop individual pieces should apply to a "craft-focused" section in their chosen genre. Writers with book-length poetry, fiction, or non-fiction manuscripts should apply to "long-form" workshop sections. Our long-form workshops are capped at six writers per section to provide each writer with a day of feedback. Our craft-focused sections are capped at twelve writers and average about two writers per day. Workshops at Kettle Pond Writers' Conference are not open for auditing.

We recognize that attending a writers' conference encompasses far more than workshop hours. In order to cater to writers who want to attend our readings, craft lectures, and industry talks, we offer a non-workshop residency attendance option at a reduced fee. Attending Kettle Pond as a residency writer is a great way to test the writers' conference waters and join a community of like-minded artists in a supportive and holistic environment. The structure of the non-workshop residency also offers more generative time for writers who are looking to finish, start, or power through projects while being inspired by our non-workshop events and the natural beauty of the Adirondack Mountains. For more information on attending the Kettle Pond Writers' Conference as a non-workshop resident, please contact us at info@kettlepondwriters.com.
