COVID-19 UPDATE:

Friday, March 13, 2020

After monitoring developments related to the novel coronavirus COVID-19, the difficult decision has been reached to cancel the 2020 Writers’ Conference. In making this determination, Kettle Pond staff considered: the current State of Emergency in New York; the likelihood that uncertainty surrounding the virus will persist for at least the next several weeks; the impacts this uncertainty is likely to have on the schedules of our faculty, staff, and applicants, as well as our admissions and planning process; the possibility that future travel restrictions may create significant barriers to access for many members of our community; and the safety of all of our writers should the situation still pose a public health risk in June.

Kettle Pond wishes to thank all the members of our writing community for their patience and understanding as we take the steps necessary to suspend work on the 2020 conference. Kettle Pond is grateful to Paul Smith’s College for their support and flexibility as we shift to planning the next Kettle in June 2021.

Dates for the 2021 conference are available below. Updated information on faculty, workshops, application deadlines, and other details will be available in the coming months and will be posted to the website. In the meantime, writers are encouraged to be in touch with the conference directly with any questions they may have: info@kettlepondwriters.com
